Dogchitecture

Just read this article here talking about famous architects designing dog houses. I really want to do this someday! My Minnie deserves a palace, but she might just have to settle for a cool bed/crate. :)

This one was my favorite from the article:

Bridesmaid for Brooke!

I was so honored to be asked to be a bridesmaid in my friend Brooke's upcoming wedding! She is my oldest friend from Charleston and we have been through so much together! We've traveled together, hung out as friends, worked together in the same field, and she was even there the night I met Steven.

I am so happy that I could share all of these memories with her! Including watching her love grow for her fiance Davis. She is such an amazing person and I wouldn't be doing anything else in the world than standing by her side on one of the biggest days of her life - her wedding day.

That is... if my husband doesn't steal away the groom before then... haha!

Frenchie Flower Power

Ran into this little cutie while browsing the aisles of JoAnn Fabrics one sunny afternoon. Love it! :)

Obligation, Game, Fat, TV, Party, Meeting - FREE MONTH

I am over-booked. I have been booked solid this past month with parties, promises, and moving, and I feel like I have nothing to show for it but a few good pictures and a million laughs. Granted, the laughs are worth it, but it is time to move forward with a few things that I have been neglecting in my life.

While all the drinking and philanthropy and events can be fun, I feel like I have had an entire year of that since I became a registered architect and that I haven't done much since. I know that it is a perception and that I have done plenty (changed jobs!) but I need to work on a few important things. Oh, like the design of our new house, for one, and my overall health commitment (or lack thereof) to clean eating, exercise, and general well-being of my body for another.

I am going to try to make a commitment to be uncommitted to things other than our house plans, my health, and my family until June 11th (I have a wedding June 12th). I made this decision a couple of weeks ago, but I had to get some stuff done first. haha - See? I have to plan to take a break. Quit planning, bro.

I will still be committed to my softball and kickball teams, but other than that and my one AXO happy hour a month, I should be relatively full on time with one request of myself, that I stop making plans and saying "yes!"

Currently there are no other appointments on my calendar, so, let's do this and make some progress on your dream house!

Love,
Yourself

Menterest

So my first guy started following me on Pinterest... and look what board he chose to follow. :)

Highlands, NC Wedding

We are headed out to Highlands, NC for the weekend and the second wedding out of four this season. I can't wait! It is for the nuptials of our good friends Janye and Andrew. A bunch of us (9 couples maybe?) got two adjacent houses and fun should be had by all! I have never been to this area.

Steven is actually getting into this wedding a little more than usual. He picked out part of the gift and he was even scheming with another one of the male guests about which house we are staying in so they could continue their bro-mance. He also RSVPd for one of the events all by himself because it is "casino" themed! Maybe I should come up with "casino" themed housework... ;)

Really? Again, IKEA?

I have hit "continue" 10 freaking times... that IS my county! How else do I tell you? How can I correct something that is already right? Does my computer hear me when I sigh? Does it feel the anger in my finger when my mouse clicks on "refresh?"

I just need table legs to build my new desk. That is it. So simple and easy.

Yet, you fail me again, IKEA.

SOLD!

Today, my husband and I say goodbye to our first house. He bought it before we met, owned it for 7 years, and we've lived in it for the past three (we rented it out to live in my condo for the first couple years of engagement/marriage). Time has flown by!

This has been a great little house and I am sad to see it go, but this occasion marks the first step on the journey of building our own house!
From Charleston, South Carolina to your computer. I hope you enjoy. :)
